Working Women of Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Wave are co-hosting “Women Making Waves in Angel Investing” Luncheon at The Tampa Club. In 2017 one in five U.S. startups that received venture capital funding, or 20 percent, were led by a woman. That could change as more women consider jumping into angel investing. Right now, only 20% of angel investors are women.
Nexus wants to move the needle and dramatically change the number of female investors investing in Florida companies. The goal is to make accredited women eager and excited to make investment decisions and building a portfolio by showcasing more investment opportunities and supporting female founders to raise capitals and align with investors and mentors.
